what is thai massage
Thai massage (aka Thai Yoga Bodywork) is a clothes-on, one-on-one therapeutic session aimed at stimulating the flow of healing energies within the body, opening the areas which are blocked and bringing the body, mind and spirit back into balance and harmony. Whether you have a yoga practice or not, this healing therapy will leave you feeling refreshed, rested, and alive.
Thai massage is different from traditional massages because it not only uses traditional massage techniques, but also includes assisted stretching techniques to help mobilize lymph, synovial fluid in the joints and blood through the muscles and tissues in the body.
Your thai massage session will be on the floor on a thick cushion which allows the thai practitioner to walk around you, lifting and mobilizing your body and joints as needed. Depending on your session, the practitioner may use their hands, feet, forearms or various other body parts to position, hold and bring you deeper into the pose or stretch. Please wear comfortable clothing for your session.
benefits of thai massage
The benefits of thai massage are many, including: improving your yoga practice, increasing flexibility, rehabilitation, stress relief, help for insomnia, increased range of motion, and relief from restless leg syndrome, fribromyalgia, depression, early stages of MS, headaches / migraines, PMS, infertility, carpal tunnel, and chronic fatigue. Unlike many traditional massages where you leave feeling sleepy and lethargic, most people find that they leave their thai sessions relaxed, alive, rejuvenated and wonderful!
