SIYANDA ELIZABETH - Yoga Instructor Minimize

Siyanda was introduced to Hatha Yoga in1969 when she studied with Swami Rama at the MeditationCenter in Minneapolis.  She was initiated into the Himalayan Tradition in 1971.  Yoga philosophy, practice, and teaching have been essential parts of her life since then.  Her classes include breath work, asana, yoga philosophy and relaxation.  She encourages students to derive the unique benefits of each pose, through conscious breath/body awareness.

 

A practitioner of Hawaiian bodywork and healing techniques, Siyanda does Healing Touch massage, inspired by Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and Kahi Loa.  She is a certified Karuna Reiki master, and offers workshops and presentations on yoga, stress reduction, meditation, and wellness in the workplace.  

Siyanda has a B.A. from the University of Minnesota, and certificates in massage therapy, conflict resolution, and group facilitation.  To compliment her early yoga training, she recently completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training at Yoga North.    In addition to yoga, her other passions include swimming, singing, vegetable and flower gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandsons.
